The Silkmen got back to winning ways at the weekend with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Bury at the Moss Rose at the weekend. Two goals before the break from Danny Egan (pictured) and Kristian Dennis put the youngsters in control and the game was sealed as a contest after the interval with a second for Egan.

And it could have been more according to manager John Askey.

"Without wishing to sound disrespectful to Bury it could easily have been double figures and at times it was almost like shooting practice," explained John.

"After we got the second the game was effectively over as a contest. It is difficult for any team in those circumstances to push ahead and look for more. We should have had more than three but I was happy with the result after not winning in our last two outings."

"Blackpool won again so are looking strong at the top but we head off to Walsall next Saturday for the first of two games against them so if we can pick up a minimum of four points from those two games I don't see why we should be aiming for a top two or three finish. I don't think we've ever finished outside of the bottom half of the table so were we to do finish so high it will be a massive achievement and another step forward."
