The Silkmen fought back from two goals down to earn a 3-3 draw in their latest pre-season friendly at Silverlands this evening. Keith Alexander opted for a relatively young side for the game against the Unibond Premier League team with Simon Yeo and Paul Morgan providing the experience. In addition the manager took the opportunity to look at several triallists.

The team started as follows:-

Stanley *, Flynn, Morgan, Pulman *, Jennings, Mougnie *, Lauren *, Hanson *, Harvey, Yeo, Rooney

* Triallists

With no real flow to the game, the Silkmen took the lead through John Rooney on 25 minutes. The score remained the same until just after the hour mark when the home side got back on level terms. That was followed almost immediately with a second and the Silkmen were suddenly chasing the game.

When Buxton scored a third with less than 15 minutes left on the clock it looked like the team would be heading back over the Cat and Fiddle smarting from a defeat. However substitutes Chris Hirst with a tap in on 81 minutes and then Kristian Dennis two minutes later salvaged some pride from a fairly disjointed display.

Of the triallists former Eastwood Town Rick Hanson and Frenchman Wissam Mougnie both did well.

Substitutes:

Off: Morgan, Yeo, Rooney

On: Dennis, Hirst, Blackman

Reaction to the game will follow tomorrow.
