On our travels again
For the 5th consecutive season the Silkmen begin their league campaign on their travels, this time with a tough looking encounter with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 9th August.
After entertaining Blackpool in the 1st Round of the Carling Cup that following midweek (date to be confirmed) we kick off our home league fixtures with the visit of Bradford City (16th). August is completed with a trip to Accrington and a home game against Darlington.
Of the sides new to League Two this season we look forward to our first ever league meeting with Aldershot Town at the Moss Rose on Saturday 11th October 2008, travelling to the Recreation Ground on Saturday 17th January 2009.
Any hopes of a nice late summer or early spring visit to Devon to coincide with our game against new boys Exeter City have been dealt a blow with the game set for the first weekend in January. But with the FA Cup 3rd Round due to be played that weekend the game could well get put back!
However if Dorset appeals to you more then how about a trip to Bournemouth in September (13th) instead?
The Festive Period sees us head to Morecambe for Boxing Day before entertaining Chester City two days later. There is no game scheduled for New Years Day this season given the way the calendar falls.
There is potentially a new ground to 'tick off' in January when we are due to meet Rotherham United (31st). They recently announced plans to relocate to the Don Valley Stadium for the coming season.
And last but not least we finish off the campaign with a trip to Grimsby Town.
