Keith puts pen to paper
After shaking hands last month, Keith Alexander today put pen to paper on a two year deal at the Moss Rose to the delight of all concerned.
"We shook hands on a deal a few weeks ago but I wanted to concentrate on securing our league status before sitting down to discuss the exact terms of any deal," explained Keith. "That has taken place this week and I am delighted that it has all been sorted and we can all start planning for the future. I believe the club has under achieved in the last few years and it is my job to reverse that and start to see us moving up the table. I am not going to claim to be a miracle worker but hopefully I have shown throughout my career, and in the last few months since arriving at the club, that I know how to win football games. And that is very much my aim for next season, one I am confident I can achieve with the backing of the club, the players and the supporters."
Chief Executive Patrick Nelson very much echoed those thoughts.
"Keith was given a very tough task of turning our season around when he arrived just eleven games ago. We've picked up eighteen points in that time, a run that has seen us climb away from the bottom two places and gives us the luxury, if that is the right word, of going into the last match with Chester tomorrow without any pressure to get a result. The home form in that time has seen a remarkable turnaround in our fortunes and that is why we had no hesitation in asking Keith to sign on for an initial two years."
"We are excited by the appointment and can't wait for August to arrive. Keith has a clear idea of where he wants the club to go and it will be a busy few weeks as we look to shape his squad for next season."
