Silkmen boss Keith Alexander was pleased with the point from this afternoon's game with Wrexham but felt it could have been more had his side taken one more of the several chances they created at the Racecourse Ground.

"That was an important point for us this afternoon. I was delighted with the performance, certainly in the second half when we created three or four good chances to score. But it was disappointing to concede from a set piece as we work hard on that in training. However I would have taken a point before the game so can't complain."

"We battled hard which is something we have had to work on and it's pleasing that we aren't conceding as many goals as we were before I arrived at the club. Defenders have got to defend and to be fair to the lads they are doing that."

"We came out strong in the second half and I suppose we have to be disappointed that we only scored just the one goal. If we had got a second the game would have been dead and buried. But we are a point closer to where we want to be."

"Apart from a few balls lumped into our box I don't think they put or under any real pressure. I haven't seen all the results yet but we'll just keep on going as we are. We want to remain unbeaten for the rest of the season and then it doesn't matter what happens elsewhere."

"We learnt something from their game in the week and Neil Ashton did a great job quashing any threat from their danger man Mark Williams. They had an extra man in the middle. We had an extra man at the back and it was just a case of deciding who was going to pick him up."

"Jamie took his goal well and has rediscovered the kind of form I knew he was capable of. I spoke to him when I first arrived and said I remembered him when he first got into the Shrewsbury team. He can be an outstanding player but has taken a step backwards recently. But he's still young enough to play at a lot higher level and the best way to do that is to keep improving for Macclesfield."

"Of course I am pleased by recent results. But ultimately it is about the players. I've got a good bunch of lads who do what I ask of them. Some have been upset at a few things but they understand what we are trying to achieve and hopefully the results show we have the makings of a very good team at the Moss Rose."
