Vice Chairman issues rallying cry
Vice Chairman Andy Scott was in buoyant mood when the final whistle blew at the Moss Rose on Saturday. And his thoughts were already focused on next weekend's trip to Wrexham and the opportunity to put more daylight between the Silkmen and those below them.
"It was a great result today. For me it was probably the best we have played all season, certainly on a par with the games at Chesterfield and Hereford. The spirit on display was fantastic. Before the game I was worried about Accrington as they have won eight games away from home. But the players were fantastic and the momentum since Keith arrived at the club is really building."
"The crowd played their part as well. There may have only been 1800 or so here today but they made some noise. The chants of 'We are staying up' from the Star Lane End may have been a bit premature but the noise was fantastic from all around the ground."
"Next weekend's game with Wrexham was always going to be massive. But after today's results if we can go there and pick up a point, it is going to be difficult for them to make up the eleven points, especially with our better goal difference."
"And it would be great it we could get four or five hundred fans to make the trip to the Racecourse Ground. I've just spoken to the players and the manager in the dressing room and they said the support was great today. If we can keep this momentum going there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to pick up at least a point. As bad luck would have it I won't be there myself but you can rest assured I will be tuned into Silkmen World."
