"It was a good result - we made hard work of it in the second half but it's always tricky against ten men.  At this stage though I'm not too bothered about the performance, I know we can play better and we got the important win.

"We struggled to get that extra man into play and we were trying to get it down and pass it.  A lot of people think we don't pass it and I'm disappointed with some of the reports I've been reading in recent weeks.

"You can have a team who pass the ball around in every position and get nowhere, lose the game and be bottom of the league.  Instead we're going to play our football in the right areas of the pitch and I don't care what anybody says.  I think we're a decent footballing team - we can play, although we haven't today and won, but do you want us to play well and lose every week?

"The only thing I want us to do is to play football when we get to the halfway line.  I don't want my back four or five passing it around the back because that just gives the opposition a chance to squeeze you up and that's when mistakes are made.  We've got some very, very good footballers at this club and they've done excellently.

"Accrington aren't a bad side, they've got Mullin up front who knows what it's all about and Craney in the middle who went for a lot of money.  They put you under pressure and I thought defensively we were magnificent.

"We've got a lot of young lads in the team - Shaun's only 17 and we've got Gareth and Izak who aren't much older.  At times that means we lack a bit of experience and a lot of them haven't been in the situation of playing against ten before.  People expect you to steamroller teams but the ten men have nothing to lose, they get balls forward quickly and put you under pressure.

"We've got some important games coming up, not just Wrexham.  We're going into every game trying to win it and that's what we'll do next week.

"You can't be over-confident.  My job here is to keep this club in the league and that's what I'm trying to do.We'll keep going like that until we can't possibly go down.

"I don't think we're safe yet.  You only have to look at the table and see that anybody can beat anybody on their day.I think we probably need another three or four points to be sure and we'll keep trying to get those as soon as possible.

"Shaun was magnificent, he's only a young kid but he's got a big future in game. He's a centre back and he's played left and right back now and will play wherever you want him.  He's had a great start to his career and I think he'll do very well in the game.

"We need to go to Wrexham now and get something.  The onus will be on them to beat us - we can go there and take a slightly different approach to how we've played recently.

"I'm in this job here to win football matches, if I wasn't doing that then I'd be sat up here in stands."
