'Thanks to everyone'
There were some new faces at the Moss Rose last Saturday thanks to an initiative between the club and Cheshire Police. And many of them would have been making their first ever visit to the Moss Rose thanks to Cheshire Constabulary's Community Support Team who invited groups of school children to our game with Shrewsbury.
And what a game to pick.
"We had a fantastic time at the game," explained PCSO (Police Community Support Officer) Sarah Wilson, "The children really enjoyed themselves and a few of them lost their voices given all the shouting they did for the team. The aim of the scheme is to strengthen links with the local community and get the kids of the street and it was a big success. We would like to thank the club for their support and it is certainly something we are keen to look at repeating again in the future."
Club Chief Executive Patrick Nelson was only to pleased to help. "The football club lies at the heart of the community and is always looking at ways to improve our standing. And the more new faces we can get along to the Moss Rose the better. They certainly generated some noise and given we won our first home game since November perhaps we should invite them back again as they clearly brought us some luck."
