Francis Green made in two in two on Saturday, his eighty fifth minute strike securing a much needed three points for the Silkmen and the first home win since early November.

And on a personal level that made in ten in the league for the former Boston man who certainly does not believe in simple tap-ins judging by the quality of the goals he has scored this season.

"Yes they do seem to be flying in when I score," explained Franny. "I was really pleased with the first goal away at Bradford on opening day and there was a good finish against the MK Dons at the Moss Rose. Don't get me wrong I would happily except a simple chance from two yards but for some reason this season that hasn't been happening."

"Tuesday night's at Brentford was probably one of the better ones but I think Saturday's has to be the pick of the bunch. The weird thing is both have come from my left peg which some might cruelly point out I only really use to stand on!"

"The most important thing is the goals helped the team pick up two results and that does wonders for the confidence of everyone involved at the club. We know what we have to do and to pick up back to back wins is just what the doctor ordered."

And what of the celebration?

"Well I know a man of my age shouldn't be going topless in public but the goal meant such a lot, it kind of just happened. I just hope I didn't scare anyone in the stands! There was probably a bit of frustration in there if I am honest as prior to that I hadn't really been involved in the game."

"I've always said I like to paired in a front two, and whilst I am happy to play wherever the gaffer wants me to, playing out wide as I have been is more of a challenge. Up until Martin's introduction I hadn't really seen that much of the ball. That was probably the same for DT on the other flank."

"Martin and I just seemed to click from the very first game this season and its such a shame that in recent months we haven't played together that often. We went to more of a tradition 4-4-2 when he first came on and I thought it was the turning point. We got back into the game through Jamie's superb goal and it was great to get the winner."

"We've got Stockport on Friday to look forward to know. They're on a great run and I read somewhere they'd equalled a league record for the number of away wins and I think they've also scored in something like 25 consecutive games. But it's a derby so all of that can go out of the window and we go there confident of taking something from the game."
