The prospect of a four hundred round trip to Dagenham is daunting at the best of times! But on a Tuesday night, three days after a disappointing defeat at Brentford with your team struggling near the bottom of League Two would be more than enough reason to stay at home and watch Liverpool in Champions League action.

But not for the 57 hardy souls who cheered the Silkmen onto victory last night at Victoria Road. And it really was appreciated.

"That's a fantastic effort by each and everyone of them," enthused Keith Alexander. "Dagenham is not exactly the easiest of places to get to so I would like to say a big thank you to each and everyone of them. Hopefully the journey home was made the more enjoyable by the result."

That was a view shared by Chief Executive Patrick Nelson who himself made it back just before three in the morning. "I gave Andy Scott a lift back from the game and it was very late when I finally made it home. But it was great to be there and see all the fans celebrating what could turn out to be a crucial win. The fans' dedication and support was a credit to the club."

So were you one of the 57? Because if you were we would like to hear from you with your experiences of the long trip! We'll be featuring the game in Saturday's match day programme and we would like to acknowledge your support.

So email us with your thoughts.

  • Did you have second thoughts about going
  • What did you make of the game
  • What time did you make it back

Or anything else you can think of.

And as a small thank you, anyone getting in touch will received a copy of Saturday's match day programme signed by the manager Keith Alexander.
