"I don't think we were good enough tonight.  This wasn't a display similar to those we've been putting in recently and I know I've changed the team around a bit to give players on the fringe a chance but we were nowhere near as good as we're capable of being.

"It's not the end of the world losing some games but I take a lot from the way we lost.  Losing games is part of football but you have to lose in the right way at times which is having a go and giving 100 per cent and that wasn't the case tonight.  We did improve in the second half but I didn't feel that we showed the commitment that we have in previous games so far this season.  It's gone now though and the players know that.

"I'd say that the first half was the worst we've played this season - we didn't do the things we're good at like getting the ball down and passing it, we were second to the ball a lot and on the whole second best for most of the first half.

"On the positive side we did create chances again.  Four great chances we made and two of those I think we definitely should have scored from but a performance like that first half is not acceptable to me and Asa.

"The four that I brought in might have been a little short of match practice but unfortunately we haven't got a reserve team so that's why I wanted them to play tonight, to get that match practice.

"I thought Gareth Evans was a different class when he came on - just because of the way he went about the game.  He wanted to be first to the ball, he wanted to win the ball and he showed his commitment.  There were probably two or three other players like that in the team - but there were too many of them not on their game tonight."
