MACCLESFIELD'S precious game in hand over their relegation rivals was meekly surrendered as we went down 3-0 at Milton Keynes Dons.
Jordan Hadfield returned from suspension for Macc, while James Jennings and Rob Scott also started.
Alan Navarro and Jamie Tolley made way in the midfield, and John Miles dropped to the bench.

The Silkmen went a goal down within the first two minutes, when Izale McLeod nipped between Carl Regan and Dave Morley to score his 22nd goal of the season.
Milton Keynes had a penalty claim moments later when McLeod was upended by Tommy Lee after latching onto an under-hit back-pass by Danny Swailes.
Referee Ray Lee waved away the Dons' protests as the keeper had made an important touch on the ball.

Danny Swailes had the Silkmens' first effort on goal, five minutes before the break. However, his fierce drive from a free-kick was hit straight at Dons' keeper Lee Harper.
Just before half-time, former Rochdale striker Clive Platt doubled the hosts' lead, rising at the far post to head home an inswinging free kick from Jon-Paul McGovern, given for a seemingly innocuous challenge on Lewington.

The second half continued as the first had ended, with McLeod and Platt causing endless problems for the Macc back line.
McLeod wasted two golden opportunities to put the game beyond Macclesfield but, after having one effort well saved by Lee, he blazed a shot high over the bar from just nine yards out.

Matty McNeil, who replaced Matty Tipton, nipped ahead of Harper to claim a long ball, but his cross just evaded strike partner John Murphy.
Lee was again on hand to deny McLeod, blocking bravely in a one-on-one.

However, Macc's misery was completed ten minutes from time.  McGovern's 22-yard drive from Platt's lay-off hit Lee's post, rebounded onto the prone keeper's back and over the line.
The defeat was Macc's fifth away loss in a row, while the Dons moved up to fourth in League Two.

Macclesfield assistant manager Ray Mathias said: "It's important that we don't get too downhearted. We have had a tough run of fixtures on the road in recent weeks, against sides that are challenging for promotion. We now have to focus on the Bury game, which is massive."

Team: Lee, Regan, Swailes, Scott (Wiles 46), Morley, Jennings (Miles 79), McIntyre, Hadfield, Bullock, Murphy, Tipton (McNeil 62).
